EA opened its press conference with a clip from Mass Effect Andromeda. Despite being called Mass Effect, is seemed like an entirely new game, with western music and Star Wars type battle scenes.
The Mass Effect Andromeda clip was short, but it did confirm that the next Mass Effect game would be taking place in a new galaxy and feature new enemies. Although Bioware said Shepards story is over, the character wore an N7 logo. The announcement promises new worlds and new characters, distinct from Shepard’s original trilogy.
“While we aren’t ready to go into too many details just yet, as you saw in the trailer and can tell by the name, this game is very much a new adventure, taking place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy,” BioWare said. “You will play a human, male or female, though that’s actually not the character you saw in the trailer (more on that later). You’ll be exploring an all-new galaxy, Andromeda, and piloting the new and improved Mako you saw. And through it all, you will have a new team of adventurers to work with, learn from, fight alongside of, and fall in love with.”
EA is planning on releasing Mass Effect Andromeda during the holiday of 2016. You can watch the trailer below.
