One of the most exciting moments from the entire Sony press conference came when an unnamed trailer started to play. In first person a man picks up a phone and a woman tells him that he has to leave now or “they” will kill him. She hangs up and the man starts wandering around trying to figure out where he is and what is going on. The trailer then shows this person investigating a damaged and abandoned house in which he finds himself and quickly becomes reminiscent of the infamous demo P.T.

As it turns out this creepy, dead house belongs to another famous horror franchise, long derided by fans for its fall into mediocrity; Resident Evil. This eerie first person horror experience is actually a trailer for Resident Evil 7 Biohazard and it looks amazing. Above is the edited announcement trailer which shows off a little more of the game. Resident Evil 7 will be clawing its way onto PS4, Xbox One, and PC on January 24, 2017 and a demo is currently available for PS Plus members. The game will also be fully compatible with PlayStation VR although that will not be required to play the game.
