The Nintendo E3 conference is in full swing and a vast majority of the titles being shown will are going to be released later this year, but that is not all. Nintendo’s E3 Spotlight revealed that after 7 years Samus Aran would be returning to consoles in Metroid Prime 4.

A brief teaser that started with the number 4 was displayed on the screen and was shortly followed by the familiar Metroid Prime theme and logo. Under the logo, it stated that Metroid Prime 4 is now in development for the Nintendo Switch, but no other information regarding the next installment in the franchise was revealed.

No developer has been attached to the project either, with no details regarding story shown in the teaser either. This will the first installment in the main franchise – outside of the 3DS title Metroid Prime: Federation Force that released last year – since Metroid: Other M was released on the Wii in 2010, disappointing many fans

It’s exciting to see Samus back in action, so be sure to stay tuned to the site for more updates on Metroid Prime 4 as the development cycle continues. Be sure to check out the rest of our E3 2017 coverage for the site as well, as we will be covering the Nintendo conference all day!
