The world was given a much-needed look at Ubisoft’s version of Sea of Thieves during their E3 show this year. The publisher revealed a new gameplay trailer for Skull & Bones, their pirate ship, battle title releasing for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019. The trailer showed off the game’s PvE gameplay, along with a small snippet of the PVP experience players can expect if they dial themselves in. In the conference, Ubisoft also announced that they would be opening a beta to the public for the title. Registration opened on June 11.

Those who register successfully for the beta will be the players to first experience Skull & Bones. The beta will begin in the near future, so sign up now to guarantee you’ll be able to test the game before anybody else.

The gameplay trailer embedded above gives gamers a chance to see what they’ll be expecting if they get their hands on the beta. Skull & Bones is focused on providing a more realistic pirate experience compared to Sea of Thieves, although the former doesn’t seem to have much hand-to-hand combat to write home about. Most of the experience players will either be joining forces to fight the computers or being pitted against each other to battle over loot. After all, loot is the primary objective.

Obtaining gold from merchants, islands, and other players lets you customize the perfect ship for any scenario. The video shows the various kinds of customization available. Those include your helm, wheel, artillery, figurehead, and more. Each has a different use, so choosing wisely depending on the mission you’re undertaking will be critical to your success. And, you never know, another player may come to nab your score from under you. Be vigilant!

The beta for Skull & Bones is coming soon, so make sure to register while you still can. For anything else E3, refer back to The Nerd Stash to see what you missed. Happy hunting, pirates.
