Capcom’s E3 2021 announcements showcase for this year was pretty solid. Capcom fans have remained enthusiastic due to a few sequels, an excellent amount of DLC, and new developments in their online games and competitions. From collaborations to new features and gameplay, there is much to be excited about. Here’s everything that was shown off during Capcom’s E3 showcase!
Monster Hunter Stories Sequel
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin generated a lot of buzz with its newest trailer which teased a bit of background story. Apart from not having to kill the monsters like in past titles, fans are excited to bond with their new Pokemon-I mean monsters. Many fans have gravitated to this spin-off series due to something we should have been asking ourselves all along; would you rather kill a Rathalos, or have one for a pet? The addition of the rideable Palamute from Monster Hunter: Rise, shall be playable in the Wings of Ruin as well. There shall be a free trial version of the game that offers free data transfer to the initial game upon release to Nintendo Switch and Steam on June 25, 2021.
Resident Evil: Village DLC…for the Fans
Due to the success of Resident Evil: Village, Capcom announced that they are currently working on DLC for the 8th installment. The drive to do so was motivated by the popular demand of the fanbase and success in sales. Although sales were initially “okay” at the time of release, the sales picked up quickly (supersonic), and they managed to outsell the beloved Resident Evil 7. It has managed to sell about 4 million copies. Fans can expect more DLC, but Capcom is remaining tight-lipped at the moment as to what it is comprised of.
The Great Ace Attorney Heads West
Do you like spoonerisms? How about an innate wish for someone to show up a well-beloved speed fiend who is good at deductive reasoning? Are you a fan of Ace Attorney? Lucky for you the US is getting a release of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. A new installment to the beloved series that offers new gameplay and new approaches to establishing and disproving your evidence vs. the inaccurate evidence of your new suave rival, Herlock Sholmes…this is not a typo. Herlock Sholmes. Not Sherlock Holmes…Herlock Sholmes. You must work with the detective as well as against him, which is a welcome addition to the series. The game launch is aimed at July 27, 2021.
