Earlier today, Xbox and Bethesda held their joint E3 2021 conference, and it was full of surprising announcements. From the long-awaited Starfield getting a release date to an Xbox-exclusive mini-fridge, here are the biggest announcements from today’s event:
Xbox and Bethesda Announce Starfield Release Date
Kicking off E3 2021 with a bang, Todd Howard started off the Xbox and Bethesda showcase by announcing a release date for the long-awaited Starfield. The massive RPG set in space will release exclusively on Xbox systems on November 11th, 2022. Check out Howard’s full presentation here!
E3 2021 Premiere: Stalker 2
The E3 showcase highlighted almost five minutes worth of gameplay from Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl. The sequel is set to release on April 22, 2022 and will be available on Game Pass upon release.
Back 4 Blood
The newest trailer for the much-anticipated Back 4 Blood showed off some PvP gameplay. It will be available on all platforms (as well as Xbox Game Pass) on October 12, 2021.
E3 2021 Premiere: Contraband
Who doesn’t enjoy a good heist? During their E3 showcase, Xbox released a short teaser trailer for the new open-world project from the developers of Rage 2 and Just Cause.
Captain Jack Commandeers Sea of Thieves
Hide the rum laddies, because Captain Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones are coming to Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life. This free update will be available later this month on June 22.
Battlefield 2042
The newest trailer for Battlefield 2042 offers fans the very first look at the new, futuristic gameplay combined with fresh weather hazards, looking to raise the Levolution system to new heights.
12 Minutes
This interactive thriller starring Daisy Ridley, James McAvoy and Willem Dafoe will be available on August 19, 2021.
This is Not a Drill: Psychonauts 2
After all that waiting, Psychonauts 2 is finally on the horizon. This long-awaited title will be available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Game Pass on August 25. 2021.
Hades is coming to Xbox Games Pass
Hades is officially coming to Xbox consoles and will be available on Game Pass starting August 13. Even before E3 2021 made it official, this rumor has been circulating for months now.
Halo Infinite
Fans caught a glimpse of what to expect from Halo Infinite via gameplay and multiplayer. The game was supposed to release alongside the new Xbox consoles, but it has been delayed until Holiday 2021.
Diablo 2: Resurrected
The remaster of Diable 2: Resurrected is set to release on multiple platforms on September 21, 2021.
Slime Rancher 2
The sequel to the adorable Slime Rancher is set to release sometime in 2022.

A sequel no one saw coming, A Plague’s Tale: Requiem is set to release sometime next year.
E3 2021 Premiere: The Outer Worlds 2
Obsidian Entertainment has a sequel in the works for their super-popular role-playing series, The Outer Worlds. The short trailer didn’t give much information other than an announcement for the new title.
Microsoft Flight Simulator
Soar to new heights of gaming with Microsoft Flight Simulator, coming to next-gen consoles on July 27, 2021.
Xbox-Exclusive Forza Horizon 5
What would an Xbox showcase be without a little Forza action? Forza Horizon 5 got a lot of screen time as the showcase came to a close. Set to release on November 9, the newest racing title will be available on Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
Along with all of the above announcements, Bethesda also showcased a slew of updates coming to Fallout 76 in the form of new story missions. Xbox also premiered trailers for the intriguing Atomic Heart and the pixelated Replaced. What would E3 2021 be without a few surprises?
