After nearly a decade, EA Sports College Football 25 is finally back. In fact, we should expect a release as early as summer 2025. The last college football game was released in 2013, which sparked controversy about athletes’ compensation for having their names and likeness featured in the game. Since then, the NCAA board voted unanimously to implement new rules in favor of college athletes who wouldn’t otherwise be paid for their involvement in the game. Let’s dive into all the NCAA College Football 25 news we know up until now.

All EA Sports College Football 25 Announcements

College Football 25 | Official Teaser Trailer

In February, an EA Sports College Football 25 teaser trailer was released. The trailer didn’t focus on the previously mentioned controversy, but it did go over the doubts that fans rightfully have. The last game was released in 2013, so fans will be skeptical about a new one coming out after so long.

The developers discussed that college football games were the most requested at the time of the announcement. Personally, from my time working in video game retail, fans of the Madden franchise only play the game because the NCAA games haven’t been available in some time.

All EA Sports College Football 25 Platforms

The developers haven’t officially announced what platforms their upcoming EA Sports College Football game will be on. However, we can expect it to be available on modern consoles including the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It’s completely possible that the game will also be released on last-gen platforms, including PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with the possibility of upgrading to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Because popular AAA games are increasingly ignored for the Nintendo Switch, we can most likely expect a port coming to the long-rumored Switch successor.

Who Is On The EA Sports College Football 25 Cover?

An athlete has yet to be chosen for the EA Sports College Football 25 cover. EA Sports did confirm that more information would be released sometime in May. It’s possible that during that time, the cover athlete will be revealed alongside more information about the game’s release date and the teams that will be available. For now, we know that 10,000 athletes will be involved, and each one will be paid $600 for their involvement.

EA Sports also announced that it is partnering with the Collegiate Licensing Company to bring uniforms, stadiums, and traditions into the game. Moreover, we can expect all 134 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) programs but not the 128 Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) programs.
