Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 returns with the in-depth leveling system that allows Henry to increase his proficiency in certain skills. However, not all of them work equally. Some only level up when doing specific tasks, while certain perks allow you to level two skills at the same time. For those who want to get a headstart in Henry’s newest adventure, we’ve created a list of the things you can do to level up every skill as fast as possible in the game.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 – Leveling Guide
If you played the first game, leveling skills in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 works almost the same. You gain experience in a specific skill by doing certain activities. For example, brewing potions will level up your Alchemy, discovering locations will level up your Survival skill, and so on. Yet, we’ve made a quick list of the best things you can do to level up every skill quickly. Also, remember that the level cap is 30 for your main level and other skills.
Skill | Leveling Method |
---|---|
Main Level | Your main level is tied to four stats: Strength, Vitality, Agility, and Speech. When you level those, you will also gain experience for your Main Level. Besides that, completing quests, main or optional, will also grant you experience. Completing quests is usually the fastest way to increase your overall level. |
Strength | The usual way to level up Strength is by engaging in combat. However, walking while over-encumbered also provides Strength experience, and the game doesn’t tell you this. If you want to “farm” Strength experience, carry more than your weight limit allows and walk around until you gain a few levels. It is a fast method in the early levels, but for the latter ones, it is better to look for heavy weapons and fight with them, such as polearms or longswords. |
Agility | The easiest way to level up Agility is by being in Stealth mode. Sneaking around will give you a lot of experience, and a good way to farm this skill is by heading to an enemy camp and walking around unnoticed. Alternatively, you can also find weapons that require high Agility and fight with them. |
Vitality | The easiest way to level up Vitality is by getting hurt. Yes, it sounds weird, but the more you fight and the more someone damages you, the more experience you’ll get. For this reason, you can Fast Travel and wait for a random event to occur that involves combat and receive a few hits. |
Speech | For Speech, the easiest way is to succeed during skill checks in conversations. The Liberal Arts perk will let you know the difficulty of a skill check, thus making the leveling process faster. |
Alchemy | Despite potions taking a while to brew, making some will give you a lot of experience. One easy way to farm this skill during the first hours is by brewing a lot of Saviour Schnapps or Merigold Decoctions. The recipes are easy to follow, and as long as you have fresh herbs, you’ll brew potions of higher quality that give you even more experience. |
Craftsmanship | The name might make you think you have to craft a lot of things to level up the skill, but that’s not the case. The easiest way to level up your Craftsmanship is by washing your clothes and using repair kits. You can also sharpen your weapons to gain experience, but using a repair kit is way faster. Alternatively, you can craft a lot of horseshoes and then sell them. |
Drinking | To no one’s surprise, you level up this skill by drinking alcohol or any potion that has an alcohol base, like wine. Using Saviour Schnapps will level up your Drinking skill. |
Horsemanship | The easiest way to level up your Horsemanship skill is by traveling long distances. We recommend putting the horse on “auto-pilot” and riding from Suchdol to Kuttenberg a few times. The road is quite long and will give you a lot of experience points. |
Houndmaster | To increase your Houndmaster skill, remember to have Mutt with you at all times. The easiest way to level up is by using Mutt’s actions in and outside of combat. However, feeding him and petting him will also work. |
Scholarship | You can power-level your Scholarship by reading as many skill books as possible. You’ll find some of them inside castles and some houses in Kuttenberg. Reading lore books will also help, but the fastest way is tackling skill books. |
Stealth | The fastest way to increase your Stealth skill is by sneaking around enemies. You can use the same technique as the one for Agility. Another quick way to level up is by picking locks, with harder locks giving more experience. But if you want to power-level, sneaking around is better. |
Survival | There are two ways to increase your Survival level. The fastest is by discovering places. As long as you discover a new location, you’ll gain experience for this skill. Alternatively, you can fast travel between two places and wait for events to occur; they also contribute to the skill. |
Thievery | Thievery is a tricky skill to level up, especially since the best way to level it up is by picking pockets. Doing so will be hard at first, but we recommend picking a town and stealing from everyone to gain a few levels. Picking locks also helps, but pockets are better options. |
Warfare | Warfare is tied to all your combat skills like Swords, Unarmed, etc. As long as you fight, this skill will level up on its own, so there isn’t really a lot you can do to speed up the process. |
Note: We didn’t list the five weapon skills in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 because the leveling process is practically the same. If you fight with a specific weapon, you’ll gain levels. The only exception is Marksmanship, where you can also gain experience by hunting.
Perks That Increase the Leveling Process
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, there are a few perks that increase how fast leveling a skill is. Some can even help you level up two skills at once. Here are some of the perks we found:
- Tight Grip (Strength): While it doesn’t provide an experience increase, grabbing this perk will let you knock out or kill enemies easily when in stealth mode. If you do so, you’ll gain experience in both Stealth and Strength skills.
- Hustler (Speech): Selling stolen items will give you Stealth and Thievery experience.
- Keen Eye (Craftsmanship): Getting your items repaired by someone will give you some Craftsmanship experience.
- Wonders of Man (Scholarship): Provides a 20% increase to all experience gained in Craftsmanship and Thievery skills.
- Wonders of Beasts (Scholarship): Provides a 20% increase to all experience gained in Houndmaster and Horsemanship skills.
- Wonders of Nature (Scholarship): Provides a 20% increase to all experience gained in Survival and Alchemy skills.
- Leg Day (Survival): Picking herbs provides some Strength experience.
