Easiest Ways to Make Money in Crimson Desert

Funding the Greymanes

You may think that some of the biggest challenges in Crimson Desert will be the hordes of enemies, a few mythical creatures, or some nerve-wracking puzzles. Well, we’re here to tell you that the big challenge is having funds to purchase anything in these lands. That’s right. Pywell can be quite pricey. For that reason, we’ve made a quick guide to tell you what the best ways are to make money fast in Crimson Desert. Spoiler alert: not all of them are legar.

1. Crime Always Pays

Alright, this might be an issue for the lawful good players out there, but the best way to make money fast in Crimson Desert is by being a criminal. Yet, not just a petty criminal, but a smart one daring to break into houses, steal expensive furniture, and even rob a bank (yes, that’s a thing). As soon as you acquire a mask, all you must do is equip it, start crouching, and break into some of the homes you can open with keys to grab money pouches. However, if you really don’t mind the heat, you can rob a bank because that’s certainly a thing. Just find the bank in the starting town, go through the back door, and you can get at least 70 Silver Pieces.

2. The Goats are the GOATs

Many open-world games include the infamous fences that let you sell every stolen item to them. Well, Crimson Desert goes beyond that by adding a Cattle Fence. See, there are a lot of animals around Pywell, and some people might not miss one or eight goats. In other words, your early money-making ventures can involve selling cattle to this fence, who you will also find outside of the starting city, near the docks. Just make sure no one sees you.

3. Legal Trading

Legal Trading

Alright, we’ll break away from the illegal side of things (for now) and instead focus on a more legal, yet time-consuming activity. After upgrading your camp and bringing more Greymanes into the fray, you’ll unlock the ability to trade, which allows you to put some packages together and drive a wagon to another trading post for profits. This is a great money-maker option, but it takes a while to unlock and even more to complete a full ride, as some of the trading posts are far away from the camp. On top of that, you need to see which items are in demand, making the process a bit tedious after a while.

4. Disarming Enemies

One thing we noticed after countless fighting encounters is that several enemies in the game drop their armor or weapons. It is usually a random thing when this happens, but slashing an enemy repeatedly has a chance to send their armor flying away. After that, you can pick it, and some will sell for a couple of silver pieces. Now, this might not be the easiest option, especially since it requires a lot of fighting, but it might be one of the most fun ones, despite how unreliable it might be in terms of equipment drops. Also, the upside of this method is that you can donate any broken armor to your camp, so two birds with one stone and whatnot.

5. The Black Market Is Your Best Friend

Last but not least, you’ll also encounter a few Black Market vendors across the map that also buy any item from you. However, the best way to make money fast with them, and the actual method we used during our Crimson Desert playthrough, is selling trade goods to them. Instead of doing the long trading runs, just bring those goods to these vendors and sell them. While it isn’t the most legal thing to do, you’ll end up racking up a lot of coins, and without the need to bring a wagon every time. So, in terms of efficiency, but also profits, the Black Market is the way.

Ultimately, these are just the methods that worked for us, but there are many more. You can go on a stealing spree, collect bounties, sell Abyss Cores, skin deer, and sell everything, cook high-quality meals, and so on. There are truly endless ways to make money in the game, but the ones we listed above should be the fastest, at least during the early parts of Crimson Desert.
