It’s not uncommon to hear ICE agents entering areas and homes they can’t enter unless certain requirements are met. They’re willing to circle schools and daycare centers. What’s the limit then? Recently, ICE agents tried to enter an Ecuadorian Consulate building in Minnesota. Ecuador reacted in the best way possible: filing a complaint after employees blocked the agents from entering. It was not only brave but may well have saved numerous people from dying.

JUST IN: ICE agents tried to enter the Consulate of Ecuador in Minneapolis, Minnesota earlier today, according to reports.

In a statement by the Republic of Ecuador:

"This morning, the Consul of Ecuador in Minneapolis reported that at approximately 11:00 a.m., an agent from… pic.twitter.com/8Egc7IZlTu

Consulate buildings are vital places that represent countries within the U.S. states. In Minnesota, ICE agents attempted to enter an Ecuadorian consulate building, which has since been condemned by Ecuador’s government upon finding out. In a video shared by AZ_Intel_ on Twitter, you can see immigration agents approaching the door when an angry employee suddenly approaches them. The employee immediately starts berating the agent and telling them to leave.

The ICE agent tells him to relax and says, “If you touch me, I’ll grab you.” The protective employees don’t seem to care, though. They tell the ICE agent that he has to leave and isn’t “allowed to enter.”

Eventually, the agent backs up, and they close the door on him, telling him repeatedly he can’t enter their premises. Several other employees come to the door, too. Not all heroes wear capes, you know? That’s what it takes to protect your community.

Since then, the Ecuadorian foreign ministry filed a formal complaint against the American Embassy. You don’t just get away with something like that. As they said, they don’t want an incident “of this nature” to happen again. They can’t just enter a premises like this without permission. Not to mention the lack of basic understanding of your job speaks volumes.

One commenter stated, “And they keep telling us ICE isn’t out of control.”

One argued that what the Consulate staff did was “Good” and suggested it was a sign that other countries are “sick of their crap.”

Another commenter stated, “This once again shows how ICE is not a well-trained organization. United States just broke an international law, specifically the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. Consulates and embassy are immune.” Seems like these agents need to do their studies, or just stop operations altogether, preferably.
