As your confidence soars after your careless episodes of deicide in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, so too must your style surpass your substance. Slaying gods while looking like a wretch is unbecoming of a Tarnished. And while the game typically forces Salvation Army duds upon your character, there are some diamonds in the rough. I present you the true endgame in Elden Ring: The Elden Bling. You can’t go there without these stylish DLC armor sets in Shadow of the Erdtree, lest the Elden Ring fashion police hunt you down.
Solitude Set
Location: Western Nameless Mausoleum, defeat Blackgaol Knight
The very first boss in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree wasn’t hard for no reason. Defeating the Blackgoal Knight rewards you with the most no-nonsense armor in Elden Ring, the Solitude Set. This is Dark Souls‘ Black Iron Tarkus in Elden Ring.
The cherry on top would be the intact cape whereas most other caped armor sets in the game have raggedy tablecloths. And there’s no guilt when wearing this as the Poise and the stats are superb. The only problem is it’s too heavy.
Death Knight Set
Location: Darklight Catacombs
Our second in the lineup is the Death Knight Set. You get to edge all the other players– in terms of fashion, with this edgy armor. I know our criteria specifically dissuade against thrift-store clothing, but the Death Knight Set is an exception with its brooding rebel theme.
Do ignore the fact that you’re a rickety skeleton while wearing it, as the function doesn’t matter here as much as the form. It’s the more perfected variant of Ensha’s armor from the base game; now you can be the strong, silent type.
Freyja’s Set
Location: Redmane Freyja during the 2nd to the last boss fight.
The helmet is an acquired taste and a paper bag might have been better. But Freyja’s Set is one of the few Greek and Roman-themed armor sets in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, and everyone knows that there’s no hour in the day when the boys aren’t thinking about the Roman Empire.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree seems to have designed Freyja’s Set with that kind of obsession in mind. Pick a different helm with a plume, and you’re good to go. Equip a rectangular shield and a short sword, and voila! You’re a golden legionnaire centurion; go crucify someone and renounce a new religion.
Night Set
Location: Bonny Gaol up the jar elevator.
It’s criminal that the armor set has no cape, but apart from that, it’s your only chance to cosplay as Sauron in Elden Ring. It’s hard to find and has terrible physical defenses, so you’ll be wearing this for ornamental purposes and to complete your dark lord look.
The Night Set is more or less tied with the Death Knight Set as the darkest and angstiest apparel in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. I recommend grabbing both, especially if you really need that cape to proclaim that you are, in fact, the night (and also vengeance, maybe even Batman).
Pelt of Ralva & Iron Rivet Set (Red Bear)
Location: Northern Nameless Mausoleum (body), Pelt of Ralva Helm from Ralva the Great Red Bear in Scadu Altus, east.
Finally! Some proper bear and berserker armor! And not that edgy Berserk manga armor, but actual, Viking berserker costume, courtesy of the Iron Rivet Set and the Pelt of Ralva Helm. It’s intimidating, stylish, and pairs well with most other armor in Shadow of the Erdtree.
Get ready to be praised in multiplayer once you wear this, regardless of whether you’re in PvP or PvE. It’s a bit of an effort to acquire but you don’t even need the whole set. The Pelt of Ralva (which is easier to obtain) is the cornerstone of this armor set. It’s perfect for cosplaying as a skinwalker or just someone who wants to become who they kill (as psychotic as that sounds).
Young Lion’s Set
Location: Enia in Roundtable Hold after defeating the DLC’s final boss.
It’s more than an armor set and a fashion choice, the Young Lion’s set is also a statement. The only way to obtain it is by defeating the DLC’s final boss or what many people now consider the hardest boss in Elden Ring. That, or you just cheesed Radahn with a Greatshield, but hey, it’s your game, play it however you want.
In any case, it’s an intact and more vibrant variant of the General Radahn Set from the base game. It’s more dignified and less worn out, a fitting armor set for those who don’t mind marrying their effeminate bro– I mean, those who triumph in the face of overwhelming adversity.
