There is a tower found in the Lands Between known as the Converted Fringe Tower, and while its name is slightly different, this tower serves a similar purpose as the Rises you’ve likely found on your journey. Rises usually require the player to solve a puzzle or riddle to access it, but doing so will net you some valuable items. This tower is no different. It has a similar solution to the appropriately named Converted Tower Rise found in the southwest of Liurnia of the Lake, though this Fringe variant has an extra step. This guide will provide a walkthrough of how to solve the puzzle in the Converted Fringe Tower in Elden Ring.

The Converted Fringe Tower is in the northeastern part of Liurnia of the Lake region, just to the south of the Lift of Dectus. Go to the south and follow the path that leads to the Frenzy-Flaming Tower, a structure that will inflict madness on you when the Eye of Sauron-like Frenzied Flame sees you from atop the tower. Once past the Frenzied Tower, go to the left, staying on top of the cliff you are on, and you should be able to see the Converted Fringe Tower. Travel to the location on the map picture below to reach the tower. This is where the puzzle begins.

Once inside the tower, you will notice that the path forward is blocked by a spell. You will need to solve the puzzle of the tower to gain access to the upper part of the tower. The items required to open this path are the Erudition gesture and any one of the many Glintstone Crown helms, both requiring players to visit the Academy of Raya Lucaria. The Erudition gesture is a reward to the player upon completing Thops’ questline, which you can find a full walkthrough for here.

As for the Glintstone Crown, you can put on any one of these crows besides the Azur, Lusat, Hiama and Hierodas Glintstone Crowns to complete the puzzle. If you don’t have a single Glintstone Crown, I will show you the first place that you can come across one to make the process of entering the tower quicker. Starting from the Schoolhouse Classroom Site of Grace, go up the stairs and to the right. At the opposite wall of the entrance is an empty bookshelf acting as an illusionary wall. Behind the bookshelf is a balcony. Go to the left and jump over the balcony railing, then follow the path until you reach the rocks that are pictured below. Jump up on the rocks until you reach a landing where you will find the Olivinus Glintstone Crown on a corpse.

Now that you have the emote and a Glintstone Crown, return to the Converted Fringe Tower and stand in front of the Marika statue. Put on the Crown and use the Erudition gesture to open the pathway. The path will lead you to an elevator that will take you to the top of the tower, where you will find Gavel of Haima and Cannon of Haima inside a chest. Beware of the Ball of Faces that will be summoned on your way to the elevator; this is the only enemy in the tower.
