As a fiend that is neither human nor beast, this creature was cursed to live in the underground ruins for eternity. However, they are not entirely powerless. Wielding Ice Lightning magic, the Dragonkin Soldier is capable is bringing down destruction upon those who dare enter its lair. If you believe you are capable of bringing it down, follow the southeastern path from the Ainsel River Well Depths to reach Ainsel River Downstream. Continue up the river trail northwestward to find the Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella in Elden Ring.
Defeating the Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella
Attempting to fight Elden Ring‘s Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella from the front of its body is bold yet less effective than melee-striking the back of its right knee. This “cheese” technique causes the beast to perpetually rotate as you chip its HP away. Since the Dragonkin Soldier has no way to retaliate, it will die without ever landing a strike.

Here are more detailed instructions on what you should do to defeat this monster:
- After entering the Nokstella Dragonkin Soldier boss’s lair in Elden Ring, immediately dash behind its arm on the left side.
- Make your way into the crevice behind the beast’s right knee.
- Begin executing a basic melee attack or a quick-casting ability while being cautious not to spin out into the open.
- As the Dragonkin Soldier rotates its body in an attempt to attack its opponent, you will be comically dragged along the ground behind the boss, but you will not take damage.
- Avoid locking onto the enemy since this action will cause your character to be pulled out from behind the monster’s knee, leaving you vulnerable.
Another important camera-related tactic is to follow the player character as the Dragonkin Soldier rotates. In other words, turn as the monster’s body turns to ensure the Tarnished is facing the camera view. If the boss leaps into the air to execute an attack, dodge out of the way and return to the safe spot behind its right knee. Continue slashing until the Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella been defeated. Slaying this boss in Elden Ring will reward you with the following:
- 12,000 Runes
- Frozen Lightning Spear Dragon Cult Incantation
- “Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella” Achievement
