How To Get The Rotten Breath Incantation In Elden Ring
In order to acquire the Rotten Breath incantation, you will actually need to purchase it from the Cathedral of Dragon Communion found in the Caelid region. This Cathedral of Dragon Communion is very different from the one found in Limgrave as it provides a new set of dragon incantations available to buy. To receive any incantations, including the Rotten Breath, from the cathedral, you will need to use Dragon Hearts as a currency. An item that you get from killing certain powerful dragon enemies that have health bars like Flying Dragon Agheel and Magma Wyrm. When you have at least one in your inventory, you will have enough to buy Rotten Breath from the cathedral. Start at the Caelid Highway South Site of Grace on the southwest side of Caelid and head towards the cathedral ruins you see in the distance southeast from the Site of Grace. Be wary that there should be an enormous dragon named Decaying Ekzykes that will try and use the very same Rotten Breath on you. You can simply get around him swiftly with Torrent or just make a break for the rocky hill opposite of him, where the Cathedral of Dragon Communion will be on top. There will be a Banished Knight patrolling around the front of the cathedral, so either go around the side to get the jump on him or ambush him with a surprise rush.
If you can make it to the cathedral safely, just walk inside and touch the Site of Grace to set up a new fast travel point and rest stop. You should see a large stone chalice with a blood-red flame burning out of it. Interact with the structure, and you will be able to access the store menu for the Cathedral of Dragon Communion and its incantations. Use the Dragon Heart in your inventory, and purchase this new and powerful spell. If you have the 15 Faith and 12 Arcane needed to use Rotten Breath, the monsters and demi-gods of Elden Ring will now have a new reason to fear their next Elden Lord.
