Talismans are equipable items that give you a passive ability or buff to your character in Elden Ring. These items are a significant part of any build since they can provide numerous different passive buffs to really round out your gameplay. One of these talismans is the Shard of Alexander. This is a talisman that will boost the attack power of your weapon skills, making it a must fave for certain weapons. The process to acquire the item, however, is long and will require players to make it through a large portion of the game to actually get it. This guide will explain to players where and how to get the Shard of Alexander in Elden Ring.

How To Get The Shard of Alexander In Elden Ring

Getting your hands on the Shard of Alexander, as the name suggests, is tied to the fan-favorite NPC Alexander the Iron Fist, who you will find in several locations across the Lands Between. An in-depth guide can be found on The Nerd Stash, linked here, but this guide will provide a condensed rundown of everything you need to do to complete Alexander’s quest. You’ll first meet the jolly jar in Limgrave when you need to help him out of a hole in Limgrave. From here, you can meet him in Gael Tunnel in Caelid and then at Redmane Castle during the Radahn Festival when you fight Starscourge Radahn. Beat the imposing boss to progress Alexander’s quest, which will see him once again fall into a hole in Liurnia of the Lakes. Once freed, he will go to the magma pond near Fort Laiedd in Mt. Gelmir. You can then summon him for help against the Fire Giant in the Mountaintop of Giants. With all of that done, there is only one more step before you get the Shard of Alexander.

In the Crumbling Farum Azula, you will be able to find Alexander atop a piece of floating rubble that you must access from the Dragon Temple Lift beyond the Godskin Duo. He will ask you to battle him as a test between two mighty warriors. You will now need to defeat your friend to both complete his quest and get the Shard of Alexander talisman.

Upon defeating Alexander in this final duel, he will give you one last farewell before he shatters into pieces. This is where he will drop the Shard of Alexander talisman as well as Alexanderโ€™s Innards, which you can give to Jar-Bairn in Jarburg to complete their questline.

Elden Ringย is available onย PC,ย PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5,ย Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
