There will be plenty of formidable enemies in Elden Ring. Therefore it is always important to step into every encounter well prepared. Whether it is a challenging Elden Ring boss or a surprise group of enemies, having good skills will help keep players alive while taking huge chunks of health off enemies. One helpful skill called the Wave of Gold is a rare AoE shockwave attack that hits enemies in front of gamers with holy magic. Unfortunately, there is only one way to get this skill. So for fans interested in using this ability, here is how to get the wave of gold skill in Elden Ring.

How to Unlock the Wave of Gold Skill

The only way to unlock the wave of gold skill is by finding the Sacred Relic Sword. The wave of gold is the special skill that comes with the Sacred Relic Sword and can’t be copied onto other weapons. The Sacred Relic Sword is a Greatsword-type weapon that requires 14 Strength, 24 Dexterity, and 22 Faith to wield it effectively. The only way to get the weapon is to buy it from Enia at the Roundtable Hold by giving her the Elden Remembrance.

Enia

Fans can unlock Enia after defeating Godrick the Grafted. Once he is beaten, the southwestern doors in the Roundtable Hold will open. Enia will be inside the room with two fingers wielding a massive club. Enia is a merchant that gives gamers mighty boss weapons and armor by defeating gods and getting their remembrance.

Elden Remembrance

To purchase the Sacred Relic Sword from Enia and use the wave of gold skill, players must defeat the Elden Beast on the Elden Throne to get its remembrance. This will be a tricky fight since this is the game’s final boss, and it’s strong against elemental attacks. Luckily, its defense never changes throughout any of the phases of the match. The best place to focus on attacking is the glowing spot on its stomach since that deals extra damage to the Elden Beast. Once players manage to beat it, they can bring the Elden Remembrance to Enia to get their reward.

The Wave of Gold Skill

There are some important notes about the wave of gold skill in Elden Ring now that players can use it. First, this attack isn’t chargeable and takes about two seconds before hitting. Furthermore, it costs at least 42 FP to use and primarily scales with the Faith stat. Although, once gamers are at the level to defeat the Elden Beast, this shouldn’t be a problem.

Elden Ring is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
