Just like in its predecessors, Elden Ring has a large arsenal of weapons that can be collected and upgraded. Players can upgrade their weapons on their own up to level 3 with the anvil found in the Church of Elleh, but since weapons can go up to level 25, you are going to need to find a blacksmith if you plan on surviving the Land Between. This guide will tell you where to find the blacksmiths in Elden Ring.

(Updated on August 8, 2024 – Clarified the guide’s steps, updated links and formatting).

Where To Find The Blacksmith In Elden Ring

There are two blacksmiths found in Elden Ring: Master Blacksmith Hewg and War Councillor Iji. The former is found in the Roundtable Hold and will provide you with upgrades for your weapons as well as Ashes of War augments. He does not, however, sell anything, so you will need to look elsewhere for things like upgrade material and Ashes of War. Iji, on the other hand, is the blacksmith found in the overworld. To the northwest of the Academy of Raya Lucaria, next to the Site of Grace called “Road to the Manor.” Head to the location shown in the picture below, and you will find Iji right next to it.

Iji, the blacksmith, is also very important to the quest revolving around the Lunar Princess Ranni, so you will also want to know where to find him if you go down that path. He cannot change your Ashes of War/Weapon Skills, so you will either need to visit a Hewg or a Site of Grace with a Whetstone Knife to change your Skills.
