The truth behind Elite star Julian Ortega‘s cause of death has come to light as the actor has passed away in Spain. The actor, known for his role as the manager of the beer and burger joint, La Cabana on the Netflix hit series captured viewers with his appearance on six episodes of the show. Born in Madrid, in 1983, the Spanish actor gradually climbed the ladder of fame with his roles in Nunc Et Hora, Untameable, Velvet, Caronte, and Elite among others. Sadly, his journey was cut short by the cold hands of death in August 2024.
According to reports, Julian Ortega passed away on Sunday, August 25 at Zahora Beach in Barbate, Spain. The incident took place at about 5:30 p.m., in the presence of other beachgoers at the La Calima beach bar. An initial announcement confirming his death stated that Julian Ortega drowned at the beach.
However, lifeguards at the Spanish beach, who witnessed the incident have corrected this notion. In a follow-up statement, lifeguard services revealed that Julian Ortega’s cause of death was in fact, a cardiac arrest. Lifeguards confirmed that the actor was onshore when he suddenly collapsed, leading onlookers to call for medical assistance. They spent about half an hour performing resuscitation procedures to no avail. The rescue team pronounced him dead at the scene. He was 41.
The Spanish national union of actors and actresses announced Julian Ortega’s death to the world in a brief statement, sending sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Since his demise, fellow actors have utilized various platforms to pay tribute to the 41-year-old. Actress, Silvia Marso wrote,
“He was an incredible actor and a colleague who was as genuine, honest, and kind as his parents. I can’t even begin to imagine how his parents and everyone who knew him in the industry must be feeling.”
Actor, Fernando Tejero added,
“I am broken with pain, dear colleague… what a great actor and what a beautiful person you are, Julian Ortega… fly high, hugs to your father and mother.”
