Become the Boss in Empire of Sin

It’s the 1920s. Jazz fills the streets and suits pick up the sweets. Times are a-roaring, but the authorities have taken away the pleasure of alcohol production, distribution, and consumption. Consequently, trouble starts to stir in Chicago as mob bosses aim to conquer territory and liquor supply. But in this Empire of Sin, only one mobster can hustle their way to the top to reign supreme over all of The Windy City.

Empire of SIn Jazz

Available now, Empire of Sin is a strategy game that puts players in the shoes of one of 14 historically-based mob bosses. Together with your growing empire, you’ll manage your businesses across the city in the quest for the number one spot. From supply chains to speakeasies, the establishments are key to rule the criminal underworld. Moreover, assembling your gang to take down rival organizations is one promising way to settle things straight with the game’s turn-based combat system.

A newly published release trailer highlights some of the character moments in the game. Together with snippets of gang management, we’re treated to some hard-edged mobster accents accompanying some of the characters you can play as. There’s Sai Wing Mock, Elvira Duarte, Stephanie St. Clair, and the notorious Alphonse Capone, former leader of the Chicago Outfit.

Empire of Sin | Release Trailer

Empire of Sin’s development comes from Romero Games, with publishing by leading strategy game publisher Paradox Interactive. Brenda Romero, game director at Romero Games, commented on her passion for the title, saying:

Empire of Sin is labor of love, a game Iโ€™ve wanted to make for 20 years. If games are about wish fulfillment, anyone whoโ€™s ever wished to run a criminal empire is in for a treat. We designed the game to put you right there in the thick of the action, at the very beginning of Prohibition. It goes without saying, but Iโ€™ll say it โ€” the Empire of Sin team canโ€™t wait to get this game into playersโ€™ hands.โ€

As a matter of fact, Empire of Sin is Romero Games’ third developed title (following Dangerous Dave in the Deserted Pirate’s Hideoutย andย Gunman Taco Truck). The studio was founded in Galway, Ireland back in November of 2015. It is the ninth developed studio by John Romero, who founded Romero Games with his wife Brenda.
