Encodya is an upcoming title by developer Chaosmonger Studio. Published by Assemble Entertainment, it will release on January 26, 2021, hitting Windows, Mac, and Linux via Steam and GOG. Other games may take the run and gun approach to cyberpunk. But this title takes a more relaxed pace with this point-and-click adventure.
Encodya Storyline
Set in a dystopian future, the story takes place in Berlin in 2062. The majority of protagonists in cyberpunk are adults with a fair amount of skill. But Encodya‘s main character is a young girl. Tina, the little girl, is accompanied by a robot named SAM-53. For as long as Tina has remembered, the young girl and her friend have lived on the rooftops. However, they must now venture away from their familiar walls. The young girl and her friend are now hunted by forces reminiscent of the Gestapo.
Tina has taken it upon herself to restore peace to her city. With SAM-53 at her side, there is little one can do to stop the pair. Accompanying them on their adventure is an original soundtrack. There are more than 35 NPCs and upwards of 4,000 lines of dialogue.
Other features of Encodya include:
- Unique Scenes – 118 scenes from day to night, with additional secret in-game locations
- Hours of Gameplay – Ten hours of gameplay with 15 minutes worth of cinematic cutscenes
- Dozens of Missions – With 47 mission tasks and 75 perplexing puzzles, players are sure to stay busy. Also, they can acquire any of the 134 potential inventory items.
Thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign, the game is set to release in January of next year. Over 600 people contributed, netting the project over $55,000. Surpassing its initial goal of $29,500, the team can put this towards ‘smoothing out the edges.’
Encodya will be available on January 26, 2021. You can find it on Windows PC, Mac, and Linux via Steam and GOG. Will you be adding it to your collection? Let me know in the comments!
