It appears the ICE immigration raids in Minnesota have been met with more intense resistance, as anti-ICE protesters have recently pushed back hard against the federal agents. Footage taken around January 15 has revealed that a group of protesters managed to loot not just weapons from wrecked federal vehicles, but also sensitive documents that supposedly contain the names of ICE agents.
In the video, you can see the enraged anti-ICE protesters hooking a tow rope to the weapons locker and ripping it out of the abandoned federal vehicle in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Some of the protesters then ran away with the weapon cases after cracking the locker open. According to X user and journalist Nick Sortor, Minneapolis police even refused to respond to the scene, adding that “DHS agents are sitting ducks” during the incident.
Apart from the weapons locker, Sortor also posted a follow-up video where some of the anti-ICE protesters were rummaging through “sensitive documents” on the ground, which spilled from the vehicles they broke into. These papers supposedly include arrest warrants and a list of ICE agents from the DHS and the FBI.
It’s not clear where these documents are now, as the protesters who ran off with them were masked, though apparently, Sortor has forwarded the video to the FBI. Prior to the looting, a clash between the protesters and federal agents (backed up by federal prison guards) took place, where the latter even used flashbangs and teargas. Hence, apart from the weapons and documents, other immigration raid gear and laptops were damaged in the process.
Minneapolis Confrontations Continue to Escalate
Earlier in the week, tensions were already running high in Minneapolis and other parts of Minnesota as ICE marched into the state at the start of 2026. It appears that a rather significant catalyst for the heightened protests and resistance, however, was Renee Good’s death at the hands of an ICE agent.
“Seems like chaos is the new norm. Crazy times we’re in,” alleges a commenter from X, while another echoes the sentiment, “Oh lordy, they have no idea what’s coming for messing with all that. 😬”. However, some commenters were questioning why the federal agents abandoned the sensitive information in the vehicle, “Wasn’t it irresponsible for the agents to abandon their stuff?” with another asking, “Why in the hell is this information in a car in the first place?”
Meanwhile, testimonies from Minnesota locals who have joined the protest detail a worrying image, where one woman who went viral even claims what’s happening to the city of Minneapolis is an “occupation” by federal agents. Thus, people have even initiated donation efforts for stranded and unsafe citizens in the city.
