Keen Games is hard at work trying to improve its latest survival game, and today, the studio shadow-dropped one of the most expected patches for it. The Melodies of the Mire update is now live for Enshrouded, bringing long-awaited QoL features, musical instruments, a sub-biome, and more. So, if you’ve been waiting for the perfect excuse to awaken your Flameborne, now’s the time to join the fight once more, grab an instrument, and explore these perilous lands.

Enshrouded - Melodies of The Mire | Official Update Trailer

In a very pleasant surprise, the Melodies of the Mire update just landed on Enshrouded, and it brings many features fans have been asking for. Below is a list of every new addition in this major update.

  • New Sub-biome: Blackmire. An expansion to the Revelwoods.
  • New Faction: Vukah. Forest dweller-like creatures found in Blackmire.
  • Environmental Hazards: Deep mud.
  • Musical Instruments: Lutes, Harps, Drums, and Flutes are added to the game. Play songs to gain buffs.
  • New Materials: Items gathered at the Blackmire can be used to create new items.
  • Dual-wield weapons: Daggers.

Besides the more tangible elements, Enshrouded brings many QoL updates in Melodies of the Mire. The most important one is Player and World progression. Flameborne can now do quests anytime, regardless of the admin’s progression. This will allow everyone to enjoy the story at their own pace. Also, you can finally name your Flame Altars to identify them easily on the map. And speaking of names, players can now show their character’s name instead of their Steam account name when playing.
