It was quite recently that Atlas Creative announced the recreation of an old Fortnite map on Twitter. Fans could once again enjoy Fortnite’s Chapter 1 in its full glory, albeit on a smaller scale. More developers were gearing up to recreate Fortnite maps in Chapter 2 and onwards, but surprise! Epic Games banned the recreation of old Fortnite stages from Chapter 1 onwards.
Fortnite Bans Map Creation for Chapters 2 and 3
Fortnite Creative 2.0 is here. It’s evident that Atlas Creative received loads of support for its Chapter 1 Fortnite map. Seeing this, Epic Games probably thought it best not to cause controversy and ban any developers that tried to recreate Fortnite Chapter 2 and onwards.
It’s unfortunate, considering many creative developers announced their very own iterations of old Fortnite maps only to cancel their creations upon Epic Games updating their terms of service.
In light of these recent changes, Epic also updated its creator portal, stating that the content submitted using the UEFN tools must adhere to the game’s rating and must follow intellectual property and DMCA guidelines.
All content in Fortnite must adhere to Fortnite’s game rating, Fortnite Island Creator Rules and intellectual property and DMCA guidelines. Those who create violating content in UEFN – even if they never intend to publish it in Fortnite – or share violating content on social media, will face content takedowns and enforcement actions, up to and including permanent account bans.
We’ve already seen tens of thousands of assets imported into UEFN. We know our community is going to create incredible experiences using UEFN, and we can’t wait to see what you build.
So, what do you think of Fortnite’s new changes? Are you disappointed at the fact that we might not get to see Fortnite Chapters 2 and onwards on Fortnite’s creative mode?
