The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ Erika Jayne made a bold claim about her co-star Garcelle Beauvais.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Bravo reality star hinted that her co-stars aren’t as honest in front of the cameras as she is. In case you need a refresher, Erika has shared a lot since joining the series in Season 6. Most recently, she filmed a messy divorce from the disgraced lawyer Tom Girardi. Plus, she dealt with a number of accusations and lawsuits being hurled her way, too. Her co-stars didn’t make it easier for her either. She faced pushback from Garcelle and her best friend, Sutton Stracke.
Erika stated that if she could be honest with the audience, Garcelle and Sutton should be able to as well. “I’d like for Sutton and Garcelle to reveal their lives,” she said. When asked if she knew things about her colleagues that the audience didn’t, Erika said no. However, she said she felt “nothing is as it appears.” She even threw a little shade their way, saying they play to the camera in order to gain favor with the watchers.
Fans React to Erika Jayne’s Comments
Once the clip of Erika’s comments began swirling online, fans jumped in to share their opinion about the news. Based on the reactions, the feelings among watchers are split. However, people seem to understand both points of view.
“I mean Garcelle shows her projects, her family, is open about her family struggles, talked about her divorce, her struggles with being a busy mom,” one user wrote. “Sutton is fresh off a divorce and wasn’t allowed to show her kids due to her ex. So, she’s just rich and dating. Like… those are literally their lives.”
However, someone else said they agreed with Erika, adding that Garcelle has not added “one single memorable storyline” to the show. They continued, slamming the actor for “how much she gets away with doing nothing.”
Many users also referenced the bullying one of Garcelle’s sons went through after Erika cursed at him on camera. It was a major storyline that caused several stars, including Teresa Giudice, to speak out.
“What more do you want, Erika? Just because you had skeletons in your closet doesn’t mean everyone who comes on the show does,” someone added.
Are the Housewives Being Real?
Erika Jayne’s comments about Garcelle aren’t the first time a Housewife has been called out. Recently, the cast of The Real Housewives of New York has been under fire for being too aware of the cameras. According to the Real Housewives stans, stars like Erin Lichy and Brynn Whitfield are too produced, which causes a disconnect.
Ashley Darby of The Real Housewives of Potomac recently spoke about this, too. During a previous interview, she hinted that some of her co-stars weren’t being completely truthful about things in their personal lives.
“I feel like we have a responsibility to our friendship group and to this process that we are going to be forthcoming,” she said. “And some people may have a hard time getting in the groove.”
Ashley’s co-star, Mia Thornton, seemed to agree after she threw shade at Karen Huger. The latter was involved in a DUI accident prior to filming the current season. Naturally, she’s opposed to talking about it on camera; however, thanks to Mia and Ashley, Karen will have to face the music.
Garcelle and Karen have yet to respond to their co-worker’s comments about them. But if they do, hopefully, they bring the heat that Real Housewives fans know and love. In the meantime, watchers can keep up with them when new episodes air on Tuesdays and Sundays.
