Hollywood has a bad track record when it comes to romances. Still, occasionally, a couple defy the odds and make their relationship work, like Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling. What makes their coupling so special? Well, that could be because they have been fiercely protective of their relationship, choosing to keep it out of the public eye (they met in 2011 on the set of their film, The Place Beyond the Pines). This is also why we take note when they let us in, even just a little!
The actress gave a rare glimpse into her relationship with Gosling when she made a post celebrating his work on The Fall Guy. The 2024 film was directed by David Leitch and stars Gosling (who plays the role of stuntman Colt Seavers) and co-star Emily Blunt (as the character Jody Moreno). Gosling has also used the film’s press tour as a platform to celebrate the stuntmen and women and the work that they do. His goal? He wanted stunts to be recognized by the Academy Awards.
Eva Mendes Celebrates Ryan Gosling And The Work He Has Done To Highlight Stuntmen

Earlier this week, the prestigious award ceremony announced that, starting from 2027, it would include Achievement in Stunt Design as part of its annual awards. This is a big win that Gosling and Mendes will personally celebrate.
The 2 Fast 2 Furious actress took to Instagram to honor her partner and what he helped achieve. She posted a bunch of photos of Gosling campaigning for stunts to be recognized for an Oscar and shared her thoughts in the caption. “My man is the F best!,” she began. “Unfortunately, success is almost only measured by box office. So I’m extra proud of my man for turning his entire Fall Guy press tour into a campaign to get stunts recognized by the Oscars. And now after Almost 100 years of stunt design not being acknowledged by the Academy, it’s officially a category!!”
In the post, Mendes also congratulated the stunt community, referred to Emily Blunt as a “total babe,” and joked that this would be the last time she posted photos of her alongside Gosling. Fans will also know this is not the first time she has shown her support for her man, and it’s a beautiful thing!
Fans flocked to the comment section of the post to share their thoughts. “Real ones!!!” a comment reads. “This is huge and so deserved! The Fall Guy was one of my favourite movies of last year,” another stated. Other reactions include, “Incredible achievement and such a wonderful film in every way!” and “you guys are so cute and supportive, I love you.”
Not that you needed another reason for Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling to be your favorite Hollywood couple, but here it is anyway!
