On Monday, May 1, Amazon Freeve announced a new reality TV series, ‘The GOAT’. The show will bring together some of the biggest reality TV stars for a season of high-octane action and drama. Formerly IMDb TV, Amazon Freeve is a streaming platform that offers an extensive collection of premium movies and TV shows. Some of these include originals and free ad-supported streaming TV channels (FAST), available on the go and for free. Suffice it to say, Freeve is an always-updating library of various appealing popular movie and TV content. These contents cut across several genres — drama, comedy, suspense, and animation.
Freeve offers some of the best TV content, which includes Judy Justice, High School, Hollywood Houselift with Jeff Lewis, Post Malone: Runway, America’s Test Kitchen: The Next Generation, as well as the sports series Uninterrupted’s Top Class: The Life and Times of the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers. More recently, the streaming service announced the renewal of Bosch: Legacy for a third season. Amazon also moved over 100 Prime Video titles, including “The Wheel of Time” and “Reacher,” to the streaming service.
And now, a brand new reality TV series is about to join Amazon Freeve’s busy rooster. On May 1, the streamer announced that production had begun on a new reality TV competition series, The GOAT. The show will feature reality TV celebrities from various reality TV franchises competing for a grand prize, the ultimate bragging right to be crowned the greatest reality TV star. The rich ensemble cast gives the upcoming series an edge and makes it a must-watch for reality TV lovers. Here is everything you need to know about the new TV show.
The GOAT Premise
There is always a lot of optimism for fans when a new series premieres on the TV screens. The feeling is even much better when the show brings something different to what fans watch in their homes. This is just a way to describe the feeling amongst fans when Amazon Freeve announced that work had begun on a new reality TV series, The GOAT.
The streaming service made the announcement on Monday, May 1, but didn’t give any further details about when the series will premiere. Hailing from the producers of The Office, The Bachelor, and FBoy Island, the reality competition series will pit 14 reality TV celebrities together — as they compete in a series of physical, mental, and social tasks all in a bid to win the title of “greatest of all time.” Daniel Tosh (Tosh 2.0) will serve as the host of Amazon Freevee’s ‘The GOAT’.
Production on the new series began in April in Atlanta, and it is being executive produced by Elan Gale and Bill Dixon. Other names on the executive producers’ list include Michael Friedman, Lee Eisenberg, Anthony Anderson, Isabel San Vargas, Howard T. Owens, Audrey Smith, Ben Silverman, Matthew M. Melty, and Daniel Tosh. Meanwhile, Bill Dixon doubles as the showrunner while Michael Shea serves as director. Amazon Studios and Propagate will produce the highly-anticipated series.
Amazon’s ‘The GOAT’ Expected Cast Members
Amazon Freeve’s new adventure will prove which fan-favorite reality TV star will reign as the greatest of all time. For this project, the streamer has chosen to cherry-pick some familiar faces from some of the biggest reality TV franchises of the past two decades, such as The Bachelor, Love Is Blind, the Bravo universe, and many more.
After a rigorous casting period, fourteen stars were selected to live in the GOAT manor. However, at the end of the first season packed with various mental, physical, and social tasks — only one of these people will win the grand prize and earn the bragging right of being called the “greatest of all time.” The cast for the first season includes some well-known faces from various popular reality TV franchises, such as:
- Joe Amabile (The Bachelor franchise, Dancing with the Stars)
- Kristen Doute (Vanderpump Rules)
- Reza Farahan (Shahs of Sunset)
- Tayshia Adams (The Bachelor franchise)
- Wendell Holland (Survivor)
- Lauren Speed-Hamilton (Love Is Blind)
- Teck Holmes (The Real World, The Challenge)
- CJ Franco (FBoy Island)
- Joey Sasso (The Circle, Perfect Match)
- Justin Johnson/Alyssa Edwards (RuPaul’s Drag Race)
- Jason Smith (Holiday Baking Championship)
- Da’Vonne Rogers (Big Brother, The Challenge)
- Paola Mayfield (90 Day Fiancé)
- Jill Zarin (The Real Housewives of New York City)
Fans Are Excited To See Some Of Their Favorites Return
Amazon Freeve’s announcement of their upcoming reality TV series The GOAT has generated quite the buzz on social media, with fans excited about seeing some of their favorites return to their screens. Although the streaming service has yet to confirm a release date, fans are already looking forward to the premiere and have expressed their lofty expectations for the series on social media.
On Reddit, one user, zoeisbaked, started a thread about the new series when they shared a screenshot of a Lauren Speed-Hamilton Instagram post that featured a picture of the show’s entire cast. Love Is Blind alum Lauren is one of the cast members of The GOAT, and she made the post to inform her followers of her new project while also promoting the show.
The OP expressed their eagerness to watch the show while describing the cast line-up as “interesting.” Most of the Redditors seemed to be on the same page, and they couldn’t hide their excitement about seeing some of their favorite reality TV stars back for another adventure. The users quickly began identifying some of the faces in the pictures while revealing their expectations for the new series. One of the Redditors, Khaleesi-AF, wrote,
“If that is the southern Cheff winner of food network star, I’m watching JUST because of him. He’s hilarious and wholesome.”
Another user said,
“Drag queen is Alyssa Edwards from drag race. The white guy on the couch is Joey from the circle and a perfect match. The guy next to the drag queen is Wendall from Survivor, I don’t remember the season.”
Some users also compared the show to Netflix’s Perfect Match, which cast stars from various Netflix series. However, The GOAT is more of a competition reality TV series rather than a dating show on which the premise of Perfect Match is based. Meanwhile, another group of fans likened the show to Celebrity Big Brother, bringing several fan-favorite stars from the Big Brother franchise to compete for an ultimate prize.
Without wasting much time, some of the fans began rooting for their favorites to emerge, winners of the series, giving a glimpse of what lies in store — at least on the fans’ end — when the series finally kicks off. The votes were evenly spread across most of the contestants, and from a neutral point, the unpredictability will only make the show more interesting to watch.
Where To Watch Amazon’s ‘The GOAT’
While there are no official reports about the episode count, Amazon’s The Goat series will offer quality episodes. The series will probably follow the format of similar series on the streaming platform. Other reality shows on the platform have about 10-13 episodes; fans should expect the same. Nonetheless, when the series premieres, ‘The GOAT‘ will stream on Amazon Freevee. Contents on this platform are free, but they also feature a lot of ads. However, fans won’t have to fork out expensive streaming fees. Also, fans can access content from Amazon Freevee through the Amazon Prime Video app.
