We’ve got some bad news for Bruce Campbell fans, Evil Dead: The Game delays are pushing the game’s release back. Unfortunately, it’ll be quite some time before you’re able to play. The question is, what happened at Boss Team Games, and will it happen again?

This isn’t the first time a delay for the much-anticipated game has set back production. We’ll talk about the original release date, common issues they’ve run into, and more. First, let’s take a look at the new release date and the statement from Boss Team Games.

Evil Dead: The Game delayed until early May

The news first broke via Twitter that another delay was on the way. Now, Boss Team Games isn’t solely responsible for the hang-up as the publisher Saber Interactive can shoulder some blame too. Evil Dead: The Game will be a co-op PvP shooter that was initially announced in 2020. Since then, it’s had three different release dates, including the latest update for May 13, 2022.

You can check out the tweet by the official Evil Dead: The Game Twitter account here.

Hey Evil Dead fans!

When we set out to create a brand new game worthy of the Evil Dead franchise, we knew it had to be groovy as hell. In order to deliver the best possible experience, Evil Dead: The Game is now coming on May 13, 2022. pic.twitter.com/BfuaOdcFVT

The original release date for the game was late 2021, and then Evil Dead: The Game was delayed again to February 2022. Now, we’ll have to wait until May 13, 2022, to start blasting Deadites. The good news is we’ll get another trailer for the game in February in place of its release. Boss Team Games goes on to state that pre-order information will be available soon as well. Check out the first trailer here:

However, you have to wonder how many players will pre-order a game that continues to be delayed? On its surface, the game doesn’t seem like a steep task to take on, aside from licensing agreements. With so much trouble just getting the game launched, perhaps fans are starting to lose interest in playing the chainsaw-’em-up co-op and PVP multiplayer game.
