In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you can evolve the slippery Eelektrik into Eelektross at any point. That is, as long as you have the correct item on hand. Thankfully, this means there is no set level you must raise Eelektrik to. This does make things a bit easier as you can focus more on finding the item in question. We’ll show you what you need to evolve Eelektrik and how to get it.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Evolve Eelektrik into Eelektross

Eelektrik is a 5th Generation Electric-type Pokémon, and like the previous versions, it is the 2nd in the evolution path of Tynamo. If you want to reach the 3rd and final stage, Eelektross, you don’t have to worry about leveling Eelektrik up. Instead, you just need to find a Thunder Stone.

Once you use a Thunder Stone in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Eelektrik will evolve into Eelektross. Sounds simple enough, right? In fact, you can do this rather early in the game as long as you have caught an Eelektrik or evolved one from a Tynamo.

If you don’t have a Thunder Stone, you can always head to one of the three permanent spawn locations to find one on the ground:

  • Casseroya Lake
  • Levincia City
  • West Province (Area One)

In Casseroya Lake, you’ll want to head to the North-West island. It’s connected via a bridge. Simply head up to the top of the hill where you’ll find a Thunder Stone near a rock. From here, you can evolve Eelektrik into Eelektross in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

At Levincia City, go to the pier that’s close to East Paldean sea. Here, the Thunder Stone is in the middle of the pier.

Lastly, in West Province (Area One), cross the bridge from the Pokecenter. There are turbines on the right side. Climb the steps of the first one, and you’ll see a Thunder Stone at the top. Now, you can evolve Eelektrik into Eelektross in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

If you don’t want to go through searching for a Thunder Stone, you can always buy one. The Delibird Presents sells Thunder Stones for 3,000 LP or Pokédollars each. They only do so after you obtain three Gym Badges. It’s a more straightforward method to evolve Eelektrik into Eelektross quickly.

Regardless of your method, here are the stat differences between Eelektrik and Eelektross:

Stats Eelektrik Eelektross
HP 65 85
Attack 85 115
Defense 70 80
Special Attack 75 105
Special Defense 70 80
Speed 40 50
