This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Trying to evolve Sneasel into Weavile is a bit different than evolving other Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. For the most part, evolving Pokémon only requires hitting a certain level. However, evolving a Sneasel into a Weavile is considered a Special Evolution. You’ll have to give Sneasel a special item and even evolve it at a specific time of day. This can be a bit difficult for some players, as it’s so far from the usual when it comes to Pokémon evolutions. Keep reading along to learn how to evolve Sneasel into Weavile.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: Evolving Sneasel into Weavile

How to evolve Sneasel into Weavile in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

First, if you’re going to try to evolve Sneasel into Weavile, you’ll have to find yourself a Sneasel to evolve first. This is pretty simple, though. Sneasel can be found in the Northernmost parts of the Paldea Region, up on Glaseado Mountain. Though Sneasel does spawn during the day, its spawn rates are much higher at night, so that’s when you will have the best luck.

When you’re ready to evolve Sneasel into Weavile in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you’ll have to do a bit of preparing. First, you’ll have to ensure that the Sneasel you’re trying to evolve is holding the Razor Claw item. Without this, Sneasel will not evolve. Additionally, Sneasel can only be evolved into Weavile at night.

To get the Razor Claw item, you must head to a Delibird Presents store in either Levincia, Mesagoza, or Cascarrafa. You can buy a Razor Claw item for 15,000 coins in those stores. However, you’ll have to collect at least 4 Gym Badges before the Razor Claw item appears available to you.

Once you’ve purchased a Razor Claw, you must give it to your Sneasel. Before you can Evolve Sneasel into Weavile in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you’ll have to wait until nighttime. The day and night cycle in-game only takes about 30 minutes, so be ready to keep yourself busy for a while if you’re in the middle of the day.

Once you’ve followed all of the steps listed above, all you’ll have to do is level Sneasel up once, and you will have evolved Sneasel into Weavile. Be sure to check back for more guides, and as always, have fun!

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
