Get ready to bash some fascists, all in your handy dandy flesh mech. The second season of Extreme Meatpunks Forever is out now.
Extreme Meatpunks Forever: Bound By Flesh is the sequel to the 2018 visual novel and mech brawler. The game is developed by Heather Flowers, who has developed many independent games including You Are A Wizard and Secret Spaces. Clearly taking after mecha fiction like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Mobile Suit Gundam, Extreme Meatpunks Forever takes those elements and combines it with more current real-world issues.
In the game, you play as a team of four queer members who control giant robots made of meat. During a cross-country road trip, you must fight neo-nazis in arena fights. In between the fights, you speak with your team members in visual-novel segments.
The second season is coming out in a set of six episodes. The first two episodes are out now, and the subsequent episodes will release by the end of the week.
The first game was known for its snappy writing and raw in its portrayal of real-world issues. When it comes to the second season, it doesn’t seem like it’s slowing down anytime soon.
Extreme Meatpunks Forever: Bound By Ash is available now on Windows, macOS and Linux on Itch.io. The second season will cost $15, but is currently has a 10% discount.
If you are looking to jump in on the action but haven’t played the first game, it is also on sale for just $3. Season one was also a part of the massive Itch.io bundle for racial justice and equality, so check that out when you have the chance.
