The physical release ofย Fahrenheit: 15th Anniversary Editionย for the PS4, has been delayed until Q2 2021.
While the 2005 release did receive a remaster in 2016, Meridian Games announced in September of 2020 that a physical edition will release to coincide with the 15th anniversary. Distributor Meridian Games revealed the contents of the re-release, which includes an art-book, a new case, and many more items. Meridian Games have also cited last-minute manufacturing issues as the reasons behind the delay.

Fahrenheit, also known as Indigo Prophecy in North America, told the story of Lucas Kane, a man who finds himself in a pickle he couldn’t predict. His home-town of New York City is besieged by a series of killings, committed by people who’ve been possessed by an unnatural force. With Lucas on the run from two detectives on his trail, he has to find out who is causing it, why they’re causing it, and how.
With its release in 2005, there was nothing quite likeย Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy, and there still isn’t. The balance between gameplay and story was well-done, with both radiating in unique tones. It was the beginning of developer Quantic Dream’s love for cinematic gameplay, reaching a peak with Quantic Dream’s Heavy Rain in 2010. Whileย Beyond: Two Souls andย Detroit: Become Humanย have both seen critical reception also, it’s Fahrenheitย that catches your eye with its presentation.
Despite the delay to Q2 2021, Fahrenheit: 15th Anniversary Editionย is still available to pre-order for the PS4 from select gaming stores, and will retail for ยฃ24.99/โฌ29.99, with no US price given.
