After being on the market for nearly seven years now, Fallout 4 gets a makeover with a graphics mod where the title’s visual capabilities are pushed to the limits. Surprisingly enough, this update wasn’t made by Bethesda Studios, the game developer.
Fallout 4 Gets A Fan Makeover
In 2015, Bethesda Game Studios released Fallout 4, an action role-playing game set in post-apocalyptic Boston where players assume the role of the “Sole Survivor” of Vault 111 on a mission to find his kidnapped son. Despite being seven years old, the game is still popular, and a fan recently overhauled its textures to make them even more visually appealing.
Since Bethesda took over, things have been looking up for The Fallout series for the most part. Even though the entire concept of the game was redesigned, making it different from the original series, fans are still not over the post-apocalyptic franchise. The popularity of the game is said to increase further with its release on Xbox Series and PS5 ports launch.
In recent news, Nexus Mods user Painstaking Rick has released a graphical mod called “Performout Fancy” for Fallout 4 that enhances over 40k textures to 4k, only suitable for powerful PCs. According to the creator, the game is optimized entirely through this mod, unlike other mods that only optimize a few parts.
This mod is split into three parts, with a total size of over 41 GB. The mod page included images that showcase finer details of the enhanced texture in several scenes.
Although Fallout 4 already offers numerous missions and locations, many mods have emerged over the years, providing players with additional experiences, from visual adjustments to bug fixes, new stories, and characters, all in all, providing players with a lot more to explore in the post-apocalyptic world of Boston.
With the ever-growing modding community, there is no doubt that more modifications will be created in the future.
