Not much was shown on the story front for Fallout 4, but it will take place in Boston. Your character starts off before the moment of nuclear apocalypse and makes their way to Vault 111. Jump 200 years later and you are the sole survivor. Not much else is known at this moment.
Everything in Fallout 4 is based off your settings. Your name you choose is actually said by characters through the game and there are many ways to customize your character. You will be able to customize your base stats (Luck, Charisma, etc.) as well as have access to over 700 weapon combinations and even more customizable power armor.
With this customization, no player will be the same. Compared to previous games in the Fallout franchise, this is the most in-depth customization to date. Players will be also able to customize their look throughout.
Besides character customization a new feature of world building is introduced. Players will be able to build their own settlements. These settlements are made by using different parts from the world. Building each settlement, you can go as far as choosing even minute details such as the color of the lighting. You will though need to build defenses because enemies will attack your settlements. This seems to be a nice new addition to Fallout, even more it is also optional.
Speaking of enemies, combat has been enhanced in Fallout 4. VATS makes a return but players will be able to move and choose how slow VATS is. With the 700+ weapon customizable options, there are many ways to take down enemies such as deathclaws (which seem more bigger and meaner this time around) and raiders. Combat overall seems revamped for the better.
Among this news comes the introduction of the PipBoy. The PipBoy has been in previous Fallout games, but this time it takes it a step farther. As a second screen option, players will be able to make their IOS and Android devices PipBoy. You can upgrade your character, organize your inventory with this option.
Besides organizing your inventory and leveling up with your PipBoy, players will be able to listen to music. Oh and did I mention you can also play arcade style games? Adding depth, your PipBoy will play games like a Donkey Kong and Space Invaders.
With this news of the PipBoy second screen option, a special edition of Fallout 4 was announced. The special edition will come along with a real life PipBoy. This real life PipBoy will allow you to insert your phone into it, thus making your second screen option on your phone a PipBoy. Not other news (such as price) for this special edition was given.
You won’t have to wait to play Fallout 4 since it releases on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 10th this year. Just in time for the holidays. Are you excited?
