Amazon has released the first teaser trailer for its Fallout series (seen below). This comes days after seeing images that gave us a look at iconic imagery, from Vault suits to power armor. For fans of the games, it is shaping up to be a faithful adaptation as we travel to Los Angeles to visit Vault 33.
Not much is known about the plot, even with the new footage. We see a dweller named Lucy (Ella Purnell) going out to venture into the wasteland. Like in the games, something went wrong in the Vault as we see chaos and violence ensue, so the deadly wasteland becomes a haven for the young woman. From there, we see the hilarity and horror that can come with that, from monsters to someone casually spitting out coffee as he accidentally “grabbed a moldy one.” Just casual things you accidentally do in a post-apocalyptic world.
Fallout Teaser Trailer Proves the Amazon Series Nailed the Visuals
Bethesda’s Todd Howard served as an executive producer to assist in keeping things accurate while building upon the lore. It was created and executive produced by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, who created HBO’s Westworld together. Nolan will direct an unknown number of episodes.
Purnell jumps from the success of a supporting character in Yellowjackets to being the lead in the Fallout series, who is seen heavily in the teaser trailer. She will star alongside Walton Goggins, Aaron Moten (Disjointed), Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), Moises Arias (City of Ghosts), Johnny Pemberton (Superstore), Xelia Mendes-Jones (Wheel of Time), and Zach Cherry (Severance).
Even after a teaser trailer drop, we still don’t know how many episodes there will be for the first season of Fallout. It will premiere on April 12, 2024 on Prime Video. The streamer has not confirmed how it will release the episodes, but it usually goes for one per week with two or three episodes on the first day, as we saw with Gen V.
