Patrick and Brittany Mahomes are the latest parents in town. Seven months after announcing their third pregnancy, their little bundle of joy has safely arrived. Brittany shared the exciting news via a heartwarming post on Instagram.
The doting mother uploaded a black-and-white photo of her and Patrick’s hands intertwined as they cradled their daughter’s tiny feet. Included in the image was a wooden plaque with the little one’s name written on it. “Golden Raye Mahomes, 1/12/25๐โจ,” the accompanying caption read. The Mahomes first revealed they were expanding their family in July with a cute video on Instagram set to Bruno Marsโ Count On Me.
A gender reveal later confirmed they were having their second girl. Patrick and Brittany are parents to daughter Sterling Skye, 3, and son Patrick ‘Bronze’ Lavon, 2. At the time, fans predicted the couple would stick to their precious gem theme and name the little one “Goldie.”
“Okay, Iโm naming her! Goldie Mahomes! Sticking with the theme,” one user speculated at the time. True to fans’ forecast, the lovebirds continued the name pattern with their latest addition. However, they opted for Golden over Goldie. Nevertheless, fans are overjoyed.
“Congratulations. Beautiful name( I was close I said Goldie),” one comment read.
“Congratulations to your beautiful family! Perfect name to match her siblings,” a second fan penned.
“So perfect.๐ Congratulations,” this user added.

Some fans, however, believe something else inspired the name Golden. “Happy Birthday Golden Girl. I wonder if Auntie Tay’s song Daylight might have played a part in your name,” one fan suggested.
The lyrics of the track off Taylor Swift’s 2019 album, Lover, read, “And I can still see it all (in my mind), All of you, all of me (intertwined), I once believed love would be (black and white), But it’s golden (golden).”
The extrapolation comes as no surprise, given that Brittany and Swift are close pals. The singer is dating Travis Kelce, Patrick’s Kansas City Chiefs teammate. Swift and Brittany have remained pretty much inseparable after the singer first attended a Chiefs game in September 2023. Their bond remained evident during the pregnancy. In an October 2024 IG post, Swift alongside fellow NFL wife Lyndsay Bell excitedly cradled Brittany’s baby bump.
As of this writing, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are yet to publicly comment on the arrival of baby Golden. However, sources previously claimed the Mahomes want the couple as their daughter’s godparents. “Patrick and Brittany love to spend time with Travis and Taylor,” an insider told The US Sun. “They see them as the best people to be the godfather and godmother of the next child. The Mahomes love how both are together. They trust them so much to be the best guys for the job.”
Taylor is already godmother to Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively’s daughters. Travis Kelce is a proud uncle to his brother Jason Kelce’s four kids. They sure seem capable of being godparents.
