Kayla Sessler entered Teen Mom: Family Reunion in the sixth episode, and fans found her a refreshing addition to the group. She shared an update on her life, explaining that she has been dating her boyfriend, Ryan Leigh, for about a year.
After some time of keeping things quiet — because there was overlap with ex-Luke Davis, with whom she had daughter Ariah — the two were able to go public. Now, she’s managing her new normal, which now includes a new little one.
Kayla and Ryan welcomed son Zyaire in March 2024, who joined her older two kids, Ariah and son Izaiah, whom she shares with ex-Stephan Alexander. Ryan is also a dad to a son, Zander, from a previous relationship.

A Change.org petition has been started asking MTV and 11th Street Productions to bring Kayla back as a series regular. This would have her join the cast of Teen Mom: Next Chapter when they film their next season.
While many have been critical of some of the choices Kayla has made over the years, one passionate fan is offering perspective and explaining why she’d make a great addition to MTV.

Her story touched many hearts, including mine, making her an integral part of the franchise. When Kayla was not included in the rebranded Teen Mom: Next Chapter, it left viewers disappointed and confused. Kayla’s story is just getting started. Her vulnerability is refreshing, and relatable and gives young mothers experiencing the same struggles an important role model to learn from.

Kayla Sessler’s story with Stephan Alexander played out on Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant. The two had a tumultuous relationship that resulted in a split. After their split, the two argued about child support and Stephan’s presence as a dad. Kayla was vocal about Stephan’s lack of involvement in Izaiah’s life.
When asked in an Instagram Q&A when the last time he saw his son was, she replied and didn’t hold back.
Remember the scene last season where I took Izaiah to the park to meet Stephan? Yeah, that was the last time. I was still pregnant with Ariah and Zay was only one.
