It has been confirmed that the popular sports graphic novel by Sam Bosma, Fantasy Sports, has officially been greenlit for development into a Disney Plus animated series. Written and illustrated by Bosma, Fantasy Sports follows the story of a teenage girl named Wiz who, along with her muscular friend Mug, travels the world in search of treasure. however, they must take on grueling challenges based on several popular sports to prove themselves worthy.

Fantasy Sports Greenlit As Disney Animated Series By Owl House Alum
Fantasy Sports is the debut graphic novel of illustrator Sam Bosma. The first volume was published in 2015, Fantasy Sports focuses on a pair of treasure hunters: a teenage girl named Wiz and her muscular friend, Mug. They travel the world together in search of the most valuable and precious treasure. Along the way, they must take on wacky, dangerous, and fantastical challenges based on popular sports like basketball, volleyball, wrestling, and more.
The series consists of three volumes released since 2015: Fantasy Sports: The Court of Souls, Fantasy Sports: The Bandit of Barrel Bay, and Fantasy Sports: The Green King. Inspired by 1960s-style manga and heralded for its colors and unique style, the Fantasy Sports animated series is set to be developed as a collaboration between Disney Plus and the LeBron James production studio Springhill Company.
Recent listings of the first volume in bookstores have been updated to reference the upcoming show.

Bosma will be involved in the production of the series as well. Previously serving as a location designer for The Owl House, Bosma will now have the opportunity to produce his own series for Disney following the conclusion of The Owl House earlier this year.
The new official release window for Fantasy Sports has been shared at the time, and it is currently being optioned by Disney for potential future production.
