When it comes to taking down the tyrannical regime of Anton Castillo, you will need all the weapons you can get your hands on. From rifles to shotguns to snipers, a good guerilla is always expanding their arsenal. One weapon that some players might have difficulty finding is the M16, a rifle that you will be able to find behind a series of quests. This guide will show you where to find the M16 in Far Cry 6.

(Updated on August 1, 2024 – Fact-checked and fixed inconsistencies).

Where to Find the M16 in Far Cry 6

There are two places you can get the M16 guaranteed, and they are both from treasure hunts. The first one is called “High Supply.” We have already done a full guide on how to complete this Treasure Hunt Quest, so if you want a full breakdown of how to do it, click here. The basics of the quest are to head over to the Lozania region in Madrugada and interact with the treasure hunt icon to begin the quest. You will need to parkour and grapple hook through a cave system to reach a supply drop on the outside of this mountainside. The reward for this treasure hunt is the base version of the M16. There is another treasure hunt that will yield you a unique version of the M16 known as the Camo Quinceañera.

Where to Find the M16 in Far Cry 6

The Camo Quinceañera M16 is the reward behind the “A Rising Tide” Treasure that you can find in  Sierra Perdida in the El Este region. Again, we already have a full-fledged guide on how to complete this quest’s puzzle. It is linked here. The gist of the puzzle is that you have to press five buttons in the right order to open a locked door. Each button is labeled with the name of a ship found in the fishing village where the hunt takes place. The order is El Tigre, Papi Chulo, El Lucky, Clarita, Roja Victoria. Inside the chest, you will receive the unique and powerful M16.
