A new Far Cry spin-off game has been leaked, and it isn’t just another number in the series. The unannounced title is based on the Captain Laserhawk anime series, which is related to Far Cry, on Netflix. The anime is based on an older Far Cry 3 DLC called Blood Dragon. Surprisingly, such a unique take on the series is getting more love.
The reason this came to light is because a game titled “Captain Laserhawk Niji Warrior” has been rated in Europe by PEGI, this means that an actual reveal might not be too far off. The rating was only spotted for the PC version of the game, but if this turns out to be true, which is likely, then it should be on all current generation consoles as well.
Far Cry Spin-Off Game Leaked Based On Captain Laserhawk Anime
Blood Dragon was a new take on Far Cry with a new digital world that spawned the Netflix animated series. Now things are coming full circle as a game or a DLC expansion will follow the anime series.
The show shows the story of a cyborg soldier far into the future who was branded an enemy of the state. How much of this story will carry over to the game or the DLC is unknown at this point and will remain that way until the official reveal.
The rating further explains that the game puts players in a laser deathmatch in which the goal is to eliminate the most enemies. This sounds a lot like a multiplayer game, but even more interestingly, it will have in-game microtransactions like cosmetics.
Ubisoft is trying things differently in 2024, with a focus on spin-offs instead of churning out the same old bloated open-world titles. First with Prince of Persia The Lost Crown, and now with the potential new Far Cry game.
