Both Descendant and weapons have a Level 40 level cap, but aside from Prestiging, there is another way to boost their power. By using Energy Activator, you can open up more Module slots for either your character or favorite guns. As you can expect though, it is an item that requires rare crafting materials with a long crafting time. Even so, follow our Energy Activator farm guide, and we promise you’ll have an easier time in your The First Descendant grind.

Where Should You Farm Energy Activator Materials in The First Descendant? Answered

Energy Activator can be obtained from some quests, but it cannot be found in the wild. Instead, you need to craft it using 5 different rare materials. Below we have listed all the best ways to farm the items.

When farming, remember to always use the Restart Mission feature by checking the Mission Results screen. If you missed the prompt, open the menu and select the “Previous Mission Result” option before teleporting back to Albion.

This material only comes from Hard mode mobs in the “Vulgus Strategic Outpost” mission, located at The Fallen Theater zone of Kingston. This is an Outpost Infiltration Mission so your objective is to destroy 3 generators guarded by tough enemies as fast as you can. As usual, running Bunny or Launcher Gley is the best way to dispatch all of your obstacles. Farming the Energy Activator material is sort of 50:50; we collected 24 of it after four The First Descendant mission runs.

If time is an issue, then you should disable the orange Surveillance Towers first to increase the mission timer. There are three Towers we’ve found near the Infiltration Mission spot, which we’ve marked on the map above. The mission has a 5-minute cooldown, use it wisely to run around disabling the Surveillance Towers instead of twiddling your thumbs. Set the waypoint on the mission icon so you can easily track the cooldown timer on your screen too.

Conductive Metallic Foil

The second Energy Activator material drops from all Encrypted Vault types and various missions in The First Descendant map of Vespers. Instead of shooting any Vulgus that came across your sight, we suggest you pick one mission to run over and over. The most recommended one by the community is “The Shelter” dungeon in Timberfall.

Finishing this mission with Bunny at max level should only take you about 5 to 6 minutes on Normal. From our experience, we got 1 Conductive Metallic Foil from completing it three times. While the default difficulty works, you can set mission modifiers on Hard which increases reward rates.

As a note, you don’t have to fast travel to Vespers — or any other zones — just to run Duty of Descendant dungeons. You can take a left from the Albion spawn point towards the Prime Hand and look for the Infiltration Operation Terminal. You can easily and quickly start any main story dungeons from the comfort of the Terminal’s map.

For this Energy Activator material, you want to look for “The Haven” or “Old Mystery” Duty of Descendant mission in Hagios on Normal or Hard. We recommend farming the former as the mission is much more straightforward and you’ll encounter the Elite enemy that drops the item faster.

In “The Haven,” the Heat Plasma Battery is a guaranteed drop from the Elite Tracker after the second laser barrier if you’re playing on Normal. In Hard mode, it’s acquired from the Elite Slayer after the first laser barriers. After those points, you can abandon and restart the mission repeatedly. Again, don’t forget to utilize the Infiltration Operation Terminal to go back and forth faster.

Polyatomic Ion Particle

The last common material to craft Energy Activator in The First Descendant can be found in any Fortress’s missions. The best place to farm it, in our experience though, is Frozen Valley’s “Command Relay” Battlefield Mission. All you have to do here is avoid the Vulgus’s airstrikes while defeating waves of enemies that end with a short boss fight. Tagging along or using Bunny, you should be able to complete it in 2 and a half minutes or so.

Last but not least, you need the Blueprint to be able to craft the item. Thankfully, it drops from all Void Intercept bosses. Unfortunately, it’s one of those very rare materials with a pitiful drop rate. Instead of pulling your hair in frustration, we have a relatively chill method to farm Energy Activator Blueprints in The First Descendant.

The “Magister Lab” Calling of the Descendant mission in The Fallen Theater, Kingston, actually gives you a guaranteed Amorphous Material 002 drop. On Normal difficulty with Level 100 weapons, you should be able to clear it in 2 minutes flat. Amass the Amorphous Material and then keep destroying Normal Grave Walker and open the Reconstruction Device.

Despite the 3% chance of getting the Blueprint, it’s a mindless and stress-free farm run. Set up your favorite audiobook, music, or podcast playlist, and go to town. Of course, you can also run “Magister Lab” on Hard with modifiers to get more Amorphous Materials per run. Use the Shape Stabilizers Form 1 you get from farming Low Carbon Activator to raise the rate to 6% too if you can.

Once you collected all the materials to craft Energy Activator in The First Descendant, you just have to wait for 1 day and 8 hours. Have fun with the grind!

The First Descendant is available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
