To start playing online with your friends, you first need to make sure that your friends have a copy of the same game and are on the same platform generation. This means having the same game on PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox series S|X. For older consoles, this includes PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

For a richer experience, make sure that you and your friends are on the same platform as you. For example, they need to have the same game on PC or PS5. Why? Because crossplay features only work if all players are on the same platform generation. This means that PC players cannot interact with Xbox One players. The feature is not also available for every mode, including Pro Clubs. If you are running on different platforms and what to use cross-play features, make sure to select “Opt-In to Cross-Play” in the Matchmaking options.

That’s all you need to know about playing online multiplayer with friends on FIFA 23. For more guides on the game, you can browse our site, as it has tons of articles on FIFA 23.
