Square Enix has confirmed that Moogles will indeed be included in Final Fantasy 15. Last week, Square Enix asked fans to vote on whether Moogles should be added to Final Fantasy 15. After receiving some 30,000 votes about whether or not to include Moogles from Japanese and English fans, a whopping 78 percent of people agree that Moogles should be added to the title. For those worried that this will impede progress on the game, director Hajime Tabata announced on Twitter that the addition will not compromise the development of the game. Tabata said the “fun little extra” is being added “with a suitably light level of development work.”
Moogles have alternated between background characters and key features of the plot depending on the Final Fantasy game. Luckily, Tabata’s openness about subjects as far ranging as gender equality in Final Fantasy 15 to why Noctis and friends wear black has kept fans both informed and well-prepared for the big changes coming to the series. Hopefully, this news helps decrease fans anxiety that the new Final Fantasy will look nothing like former titles.
The game was first announced back in 2006 at E3 through a conceptual CGI trailer and was re-introduced as Final Fantasy 15 at 2013’s E3. Early this year a demo of the game titled Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae was released with limited pre-order bonus with early physical and digital copies of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD.
Final Fantasy 15 is published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and is currently scheduled for a worldwide release in 2016. Stay tuned for details!
