Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the highly-anticipated remake of the classic 1997 video game. FF7 Rebirth is in development. The team behind the game is aiming to create a combat system that exceeds the well-regarded system seen in Final Fantasy 12. Fans of the original game are eagerly awaiting the release of this new version, which promises updated graphics and a reimagined story. But what about a Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth release date?

The lead developer at Square Enix is striving to elevate the combat system of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth way beyond what was seen in Final Fantasy 12. Final Fantasy VII, with no release date set yet, is said to build upon and enhance various elements of combat from its predecessor while also continuing the captivating storyline introduced in the first part of the Remake Trilogy.

FF7 Rebirth was announced at the Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary Celebration in June 2022, alongside the release of FF7 Remake Intergrade for Steam. The reveal trailer teased a conversation between Cloud and Sephiroth, while Square Enix later confirmed a winter 2023 release window.

According to an interview in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Ultimania guidebook, the summary of which was posted on Twitter by @ShinraArch, a lead battle programmer, Satoru Koyama aims to surpass FF12’s Gambit system in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

Koyama plans to introduce a new AI system in FF7 Rebirth that improves the party’s fighting abilities while allowing players to focus on character control. Similar to FF12’s Gambit system, a new AI will adapt to the combat scenario as it progresses. The most effective Materia set-up for each party member will be crucial since the AI will utilize magic and exploit enemy weaknesses.

Koyama’s ambitious goal for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth may lead to innovative new ideas for Square Enix and benefit players seeking a challenge on the hardest difficulty. While fans wait for more news about FF7 Rebirth, they can look forward to the release of FF16 this summer. But what about Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s release date? The developers made no comments on that front.
