Among the new content introduced in Patch 6.2 is the Wondrous Lanner, a bird Mount in Final Fantasy XIV obtainable by acquiring its whistle. This stunning ride is characterized by bright, mint-colored plumage on its wings, a purplish-brown beak, and golden metallic armor. While it might seem odd to release another Mount of the past collection from Heavensward, it does make sense as a new Unreal Trial has been introduced in the update — Containment Bay S1T7, featuring Sephirot the Fiend. Regardless, adventurers seeking to unlock the new Wondrous Lanner Whistle in Final Fantasy XIV have three primary options.
Unlocking The Wondrous Lanner In Final Fantasy XIV
The first method of acquiring the Wondrous Lanner Whistle in Final Fantasy XIV is through the Market Board. Depending on the server, it can typically be purchased for approximately 9 million Gil. Naturally, this is an incredibly steep price for casual players, but those who regularly engage in end-game content will likely have more than enough to procure this Mount.
According to Final Fantasy XIV content creator Meoni, players can unlock the Wondrous Lanner Whistle through the in-game methods below:

Wondrous Tails
After attaining Level 60 and reaching Idyllshire in the Heavensward expansion, Warriors of Light will receive the opportunity to unlock Wondrous Tails.
To unlock Wondrous Tails, complete the quest “Keeping Up with the Aliapohs” given by Unctuous Adventurer at (X:7.0, Y:5.9) in Idyllshire.
This weekly activity has participants complete Duties of the past to receive Seals.
These Seals can be placed in Khloe’s Wondrous Tails Journal.
Similar to Bingo, players are rewarded with Certificates of Commendation for forming a complete line in the journal.
With skillful placement and lucky RNG, players can potentially acquire the rarest reward — Khloe’s Gold Certificate of Commendation.
Take this item and exchange it with Khloe in Idyllshire to receive the Wondrous Lanner Whistle in Final Fantasy XIV.

Faux Hollows
Alternatively, players can participate in Faux Hollows, another weekly activity that involves players engaging in Trials of “Unreal” difficulty.
After completing the Shadowbringers MSQ, speak to the Painfully Ishgardian Man in Idyllshire at (X:7.0, Y:5.9) to receive the quest “Fantastic Mr. Faux.”
After completing the brief questline, players can enter the current Trial, which is Containment Bay S1T7 (Unreal).
Participating in this Duty will grant players Faux Leaves, a currency that can be exchanged with the Faux Commander in Idyllshire.
After gaining 600 Faux Leaves, speak with the commander to unlock the Wondrous Lanner Whistle in FFXIV.
