A slew of new information came out of last night’s Final Fantasy XV Uncovered event. The much-anticipated new entry in the long-running franchise will finally launch on September 30 worldwide for Xbox One and PS4.

Two collector’s editions of the game were also announced. The Deluxe edition will cost $89.99. it will come with a steel case for the game and exclusive in-game items and skins. The Ultimate Collector’s Edition will burn a bigger hole in your wallet at $269.99. It comes with an art book, an exclusive Play Arts kai figure of Noctis, the games hero, and all the content that ships with the Deluxe edition. Only 30,000 copies of the Ultimate Collector’s Edition will be sold worldwide.
The event also saw the reveal of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV – a full length film that focuses on Noctis’s father, King Regis, who will be played by Sean Bean of Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings fame. The film will also feature game of Thrones actress Lena Headey and Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul.

A five-part anime has also been announced to coincide with the game’s release. Titled Final Fantasy XV: Brotherhood, the series will centre on Noctis and his back story. All five episodes will be available online for free, with the first already uploaded. A sixth episode will be available exclusively to those who get their hands on the Ultimate Collectors Edition.
A new playable demo was also revealed. The new ‘Platinum Demo’ features a section that will not be in the final game and gives players a glimpse into Noctis’s past. It is available to download now on Xbox One and PS4.

The last announcement to come out of last night was the reveal of Justice Monsters Five, a mobile tie-in to Final Fantasy XV. It is a pinball game that features RPG elements and will be available for IOS, Android and Windows 10 in 2o16.
Final Fantasy XV was originally announced as Final Fantasy Versus XIII in 2006. It received a surprise name change at E3 2013. It is the fifteenth main entry in the long running Final Fantasy Franchise.
