Marvel is giving readers a first look inside Jed MacKay and C.F. Villa’s new era of Avengers. This past week has been filled with news regarding Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as they celebrate their 60th anniversary. Now, fans can get a sneak peek at this new run of the Avengers and their cosmic adventures.
A New Era of Avengers
MacKay and Villa’s run on the Avengers will feature an entirely new lineup. It features Captain Marvel leading a group that includes Iron Man, Thor, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Black Panther, and Sam Wilson’s Captain America. Together, these heroes embrace a whole new purpose, having been gifted with the knowledge of the Tribulation Events. These are a series of disasters that spark chaos throughout the universe.
Now, the Avengers must unravel a new mystery surrounding the “Missing Moment.” What exactly this “Missing Moment” is is anybody’s guess. However, readers do know that Kang is on the hunt for it. So, that cannot be good.
An Exclusive First Look
To get fans hyped, Marvel released several variant covers for the first issue. They also revealed a couple of the interior art pages. This new era of Avengers is getting eight variant covers from some of the best artists in the biz. Daniel Acuna and Kael Ngu offer two variants to Stuart Immonen’s main cover of the first issue. Superstar artists Mark Brooks, Marco Checchetto, and Skottie Young are also lending their talents to some variant covers.
Meanwhile, Paul Smith puts Vision front and center in the Hidden Gem variant cover. Also putting Vision in the front is John Tyler Christopher, who contributed one of his iconic Negative Space variant covers. Finally, Derrick Chew is putting Vision’s ex on the Scarlet Witch variant cover.
Also, the interior art pages show off the grand scale of this new era of Avengers. You can check out Captain Marvel as she…marvels at Earth from the Moon. You can also check out Iron Man, Captain Marvel, and Thor in action against a colossal being. Elsewhere, Black Panther is seen in action defending screaming citizens from some metal monstrosities.
