Warner Bros Games has officially announced MultiVersus, their newest free-to-play platforming fighter in a recent reveal trailer via Twitter and YouTube. The trailer serves as an overview of the game’s features, characters, and concepts. Details regarding the game’s characters, stages, and features have been previously leaked and suggested that some characters like Gandalf from Lord of the Rings and Rick from Rick and Morty would be added at some point, but nothing about the game has been confirmed until now.

MultiVersus Release Date, Features, and Confirmed Characters
MultiVersus by Warner Bros Games will be released on PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PC, with full cross-play support. While there was no official release date revealed in the trailer, the video went over many aspects of the gameplay as explained by Player First Games co-founder and director Tony Huynh, and teased a playtest happening soon, which players can sign up for on the official website.
The game will be free-to-play at launch and predominantly focus on 2v2 matches, with an emphasis placed on teamwork and synergy between players. 1v1 matches are also supported, and up to four players will be able to compete in free for all competitions either online or locally. Ranked competitions and customization support are also included.

Each character was shown to have their own unique style of play and abilities that distinguish them from one another and referenced aspects of their character, such as Wonder Women’s Lasso of Truth attack to grab enemies, Shaggy’s Throw Sandwiches, Arya Stark possessing her face-swapping ability, and Superman using his laser vision to engage enemies from a distance.
