There are all kinds of romantic relationships between humans, and unfortunately, not all of them last or end badly. Personal relationships can become very difficult, and conflicts can break out without proper communication. However, on Reddit, fights between couples do not seem like just human things. Some fish species even have marital problems that can escalate to a divorce, as is the case of some angelfish. I would have expected this from more human-like animals, such as gorillas or at least a mammal, but not from a fish.
Redditor galaxystars1 shared on r/TikTokCringe, a video of fishcartel’s TikTok, an account showing some fish species’ breeding. Although fishcartel’s account is not that big, one of their videos, in particular, went viral. In this video, two angelfish, the black male and the yellow female, are hitting their heads. Meanwhile, the fish are fighting; the fishcartel explains that those two angelfish are acting this way because they are getting a divorce. The fish began their argument because although they had many descendants before, the female no longer allowed the male to fertilize more of her eggs. So the male got annoyed and started to “tackle” her until she got annoyed, and both started bumping their heads against each other.
This reminded many people of a problem they had with their partners:
Arguing with your significant other in a studio apartment.

Some others seem to have projected heavily on the female Anglelfish:
She didn’t feel like he was doing his part raising those 1,000s of previous babies, so she sent him packing!

Unfortunately, as with many human divorces, these fish did not end well either. On the bright side, the fishcartel explained in the video that the female already met a new partner. Many followers asked to know more about this new fish, and in response, fishcartel shared another TikTok in which they talked about him. This new partner is a very promising black male with long fins who is much younger than her ex.
