Blumhouse has released an official trailer for the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s movie. Fans on the internet immediately went wild, picking out their favorite scenes, actors, cameos, and more from the trailer. So far, this seems to be the best look at the movie yet. It offers clear visuals of Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and other notable figures. It has been a long road for fans since the initial announcement in 2015, but now it looks like the long wait is at an end.
Based on the trailer, Five Nights at Freddy’s will give fans of the franchise exactly what they want on the big screen. The movie follows a security guard (played by Josh Hutcherson) as he begins the night shift watching over Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. On the first night, he realizes that the night shift is more than he bargained for. The situation becomes a matter of life and death. In a bit of a different move from the game, it also looks like his little sister (played by Piper Rubio) is a target of the possessed animatronics.
Five Nights at Freddy: What Can We See From the Trailer?
The trailer gives viewers a look at many other familiar faces showing up in the movie. Matthew Lillard (Scream, Scooby-Doo) is cast as playing William Afton. There is even a fun Easter egg of Youtuber CoryxKenshin playing a cab driver. Of course, this left many fans to speculate if Youtuber Markiplier (who also played all the Five Nights at Freddy’s games) or any others will also make an appearance in the movie.
Five Nights at Freddy’s is produced by Jason Blum and Scott Cawthon (the creator of the games). Blumhouse acquired the rights to the movie in 2017 after Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema shelved the project. Currently, Emma Tammi (The Black Phone, M3gan) is directing the movie.
Five Nights at Freddy’s will hit theaters and Peacock on October 27th, 2023.
