Wild things can happen at restaurants, and you never expect what might happen next. I don’t think that anyone would have predicted that a Chuck E. Cheese mascot would be arrested while at work. This is what happened at a branch in Florida while a children’s birthday party was taking place. People were surprised when they saw police arriving at the restaurant and proceeding to arrest the mascot. The fact that they arrested him while he was wearing the costume means that they already knew his identity and where he worked. They could have waited until he finished his shift, though.
In a video filmed by someone outside Chuck E. Cheese, you can see how the police have the Florida mascot handcuffed while he is still in costume. They then remove the head, which is honestly traumatizing for kids who were there. Right after this, they proceed to make him remove the rest of his outfit. I hope that at least the restaurant got it back because they will probably need to hire someone else. According to TMZ, the guy in the suit is named Jermell J. Jones. “Jones is charged with theft of a credit card, criminal use of personal identification info, and fraudulent use of a credit card more than twice within 6 months,” they wrote. He had been released on $1,000 bond as well.
People Reacting to the Arrest of the Florida Chuck E. Cheese Mascot
People were definitely amused by the arrest that took place in Florida. It’s not every day that you see Chuck E. Cheese’s mascot getting arrested. Many people, however, were concerned about the children who had to witness the arrest. “Not in front the kids y’all PLEASE,” one woman wrote. This made someone else point out that it was also traumatizing that they took the head off. “And decapitated,” they wrote. Another person believed that the kids will never forget this as they said, “What A Core Memory To Have. Chuck E. Cheese Being Arrested.” I have to agree that this isn’t something you can easily forget. There was also one person who believed that the police should have made the guy take off the outfit before arresting him. “why they ain let him take that off first omg . the kidsssss lmaoo,” they added.
Aside from worrying about the kids’ mental health, several people had some jokes to share. “Y’all think he ratted?” one person asked. I mean, he is a mouse after all. Since this happened in Tallahassee, Florida, one woman wrote, “Tallahassee isn’t a real place. I love my city.” Now, if events such as this happen regularly in Tallahassee, then I need to move there. There was someone else who guessed why the Chuck E. Cheese guy was being arrested. “thie the best 1 ..bc what happened did he fight the kids back,” they wrote. I think that credit card fraud is better than fighting kids as an adult. At least he now has a fun story to tell at gatherings.
